Two pupils from Kingsfield Primary School, part of Active Learning Trust, were very excited to switch on the Christmas lights in Chatteris.

Excel and Evelyn, both in reception, won a lucky draw at school to choose who would represented Kingsfield as members of the student council. The children travelled with Father Christmas on his sleigh through town and arrived on stage to help him push the big red button in front of a huge crowd!

After the lights had been switched on, the Kingsfield school choir joined the Chatteris Community Choir at the Chatteris Church of St Peter and St Paul, performing two songs on stage to a packed audience.

Lisa Corby, Executive Headteacher at Kingsfield Primary School, said:
“We are so grateful that our pupils have had the opportunity to play a part in this wonderful celebration of the holiday season and the start of many festivities.

“It’s always brilliant to see the community and families celebrating together.”
