Earith Primary School celebrated the official opening of its brand new play area last week.

With 20 eager pupils representing the school, including Mrs. Lisa Corby, School Improvement Lead from The Active Learning Trust, the ribbon-cutting ceremony on May 1st marked the official launch of the new facility.

Accompanying Mrs. Corby were Mrs. Nicholls, the EYFS Lead, and Mrs. Austen & Miss Attree, Teaching Assistants, who joined in the celebration.

The newly unveiled play area features a range of exciting features, including a sand pit, water wall, play builder engineering set, storytelling chairs, giant chalkboard, and a turf floor. These additions reflect the school's commitment to enhancing outdoor spaces to facilitate pupil’s learning and development.
Mrs Nicholls, EYFS Lead at the school expressed her excitement about the new area saying: “This is an essential new resource all about promoting outdoor learning and play-based education, which is a key part of our Early Years curriculum here at Earith Primary.”

Additionally, Earith's School Council has been actively seeking input from pupils to ensure the new space caters to the interests and needs of all age groups.

Lynsey Holzer, CEO of Active Learning Trust, commended the transformation of Earith Primary's Early Years playground into a vibrant and enriching environment for children to explore and learn. “I’m delighted for the Earith School Community – I know this space will be well used and enjoyed for many years to come” she said.
