Hilary Hitch

I have worked in education for 23 years starting in a primary setting and then moving to secondary. My current role is Senior Lead of Safeguarding and Welfare at Neale-Wade Academy. As a member of the SLT my responsibilities are not only safeguarding but include senior lead for mental health and the wider student support. I have a foundation degree in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy as well as a counselling qualification. I started at Neale-Wade as an Inclusion Worker but over the years my role has evolved to  take on additional responsibilities and a place on the SLT. My focus also extends to staff wellbeing and welfare and I played an active role in the development of our staff wellbeing committee. I am passionate about my role as I truly believe that a welldeveloped sense of wellbeing with staff and students can only promote a sense of belonging for us all to succeed and thrive.
