Stephanie Lincoln

I have been working at Chantry Academy for over 3 years, teaching Performing Arts, Dance and Drama. My current role is as Head of Department has allowed me to develop the Arts in school whilst my role as a CALSA and SLE enables me to impact on the Arts in the local community and beyond. I have been delighted to see the Arts grow at Chantry and now over a third of students now take Dance or Drama in Upper school (a 300% increase). I have (and still do) work in the Performing Arts industry and have used this to forge links with a variety of external people and providers including Theatres, Production Companies, Dance Houses and Artists. These links are used to the benefit of our students and local community and underpins part of the Arts Mark bid that has been submitted. I am passionate about professional development and work in a variety of schools supporting their PA departments as well as training teachers through SCITT programmes. I feel Performing Arts gives students the life skills needed to be socially mobile and thus am proactive in embedding this across the Academy across all
departments.
