Jo Verrall

Jo is a highly experienced Year 1 teacher with a specific expertise and school responsibility in KS1 Literacy. She has successfully completed the LAL program where her main focus was to improve spellings and writing in Year 1. Jo is passionate and enthusiastic about all aspects of Literacy, focusing particularly on cross- curricular, practical and active learning often incorporating the outdoor environment. Her specialism is Phonics and has been observed many times by her fellow staff to improve their own practice. She believes that Phonics should be fun, meaningful and embedded through interactive activities. Jo has given training, support and led staff meetings to staff from her own federation and other schools. She is really enthusiastic about sharing her knowledge and experience with other schools within the Trust.
