Claire Howlett

Claire is an assistant headteacher with current responsibility for the development of oracy and communication across the school. Prior to this, she developed the Pupil Premium strategy at a comprehensive school with 25% PP. Claire has successfully completed the LALA programme and her focus on reducing PP persistent absence resulted in increase in attainment and progress scores in this group of students. She is a highly experienced English practitioner having previously led the English faculty to its best results ever. Claire has been a designated teacher for Looked After Children for five years and as part of this role has undergone training in mental health, trauma and attachment conditions and successfully mentored a large number of children in care with a range of complex needs.
