Summary

Isobel is an experienced KS1 and Early Years teacher and part of the Leadership team with responsibility for Early Years. Some of her responsibilities during her career have included Curriculum, Literacy and Music. Isobel has an absolute passion for the Early Years. She has a particular interest in early reading as this is something she struggled with as a child: there is nothing more rewarding than teaching children to read and witnessing their confidence blossom through using systematic approaches. Isobel has undertaken many training opportunities with Early Excellence including the ‘Transformation Project’ and is proud to have the ‘Early Excellence Principles’ at the heart of the EYFS provision at Red Oak. Isobel leads the Active Learning Trust Standards Group for the Lowestoft Hub, with another ALT colleague. Isobel completed the Teaching Leaders Middle Leadership qualification in 2017 with a focus on raising standards within EYFS. Isobel is a scholarship graduate of the Royal Academy of Music, Isobel’s first love is music and it is an honour to lead music at Red Oak where the Arts are an integral part of school culture and the school has achieved Artsmark Accreditation.
