Lauraine Barnes

Lauraine is a primary school Deputy Headteacher with specialism in Literacy and Modern Foreign Languages. She has successfully completed both the LAL and LALA programmes as well as the NPQSL. Her main focus has been on improving standards in reading; a piece of work which has resulted in a significant increase in attainment and progress scores across the school as well as better engagement with families in supporting their children to develop a love of reading. This project has since been adapted and used successfully in other schools, both locally and nationally. Lauraine’s ability to coach colleagues effectively has enabled rapid change to take place.
