Pippa Wake

Pippa Wake is a member of the Gusford Headship team. She leads Teaching and Learning as well as being curriculum lead for Mathematics. She has a passion for maths and this has led to her seeking out CPD opportunities in this area. She became a Mathematics Specialist Teacher (MaST) in 2010. Following this she has trained to be a Mastery Specialist and NCETM PD Lead. She works with the Angles Maths Hub and NCETM leading Mastery work groups and supporting schools. She has also worked with high schools focussing on the transition from Key Stage 2 to 3 in maths. Pip is also part of the Suffolk Key Stage 2 moderation team, a position she has held for the last 6 years, visiting schools to carry out writing moderation on behalf of the LA. Due to this she has supported a number of schools preparing for moderation. She has lead moderation sessions across the Ipswich Hub for years 4, 5 and 6. In addition to this, she is also an SLE and has supported schools to improve their end of Key Stage 2 results, worked with subject leaders and 1:1 with year 6 teachers ensuring curriculum coverage before SATs.
