Summary

Jane is an experienced KS2 practitioner who is passionate about embedding learning through the arts. Her current role in school, alongside teaching full time, is Arts and Culture Lead. She completed LAL and is a Lead Practitioner, SLE and also Lead CALSA (Culture and Arts leader for schools and academies - with Norfolk & Norwich Festival Bridge). She is also an Arts Award adviser for Discover, Explore, Bronze and Silver. These roles have provided an opportunity for Jane to develop curriculum, facilitate and lead
workshops, work with trainee, NQT and experienced teachers, as well as lead her school to be the first primary school in Suffolk to achieve Platinum ArtsMark. She has been the Lead Teacher for the Paul Hamlyn Foundation funded (£150,000) Teacher Development Fund Project, working with nine primary schools across the Trust over two years. The focus of this project was ‘Eroding social disadvantage through the arts - Vocabulary study.’ As an arts champion, Jane has worked closely with artists and arts organisations to help develop skills and confidence for teachers to provide rich learning opportunities and exciting arts and cultural experiences for all children. Closing the cultural capital gap is important to Jane as she supports colleagues to develop the skills, to  teach and reflect on the impact of arts in the curriculum. Jane is a creative thinker who is keen to help others overcome potential barriers and is always looking for new arts projects to enhance learning.
