Four pupils from Hillside Primary School had the unforgettable honour of being mascots for Ipswich Town FC during their 3rd round FA Cup match against Bristol Rovers on Sunday, 7 January, at Portman Road. Ipswich Town secured a resounding 3-0 victory in the match, making the day even more memorable for everyone involved.

Isabela, Riley, Brileigh, and Bryant were the lucky pupils chosen to represent Hillside Primary after their names were drawn at random following an assembly where all children interested in being mascots were invited to participate.

The special day included an opportunity for the children to meet the Ipswich Town players, lead the team onto the pitch as mascots, and then cheer them on from the stands as they claimed their impressive win.

Headteacher Lucy Wass said:
"We were delighted to represent Hillside Primary School at Portman Road on Saturday and lend our support to Ipswich Town. The children had a brilliant day meeting players and getting to walk out onto the pitch with the team. The experience has really inspired them and given us all memories to last a lifetime. Thank you to everyone at ITFC!”

The excitement didn’t end on Sunday. This week, the school hosted assemblies to reflect on the incredible experience, with pupils sharing their memories and inspiring others with their stories.

Isabela said, ' It was a truly amazing, wonderful experience. My prediction of a 3- 0 win was correct!'.
Bryant said, ' I really enjoyed meeting Sam Morsey. He is my favourite player'.

Hillside Primary School is proud to have been part of this event and thanks Ipswich Town FC for creating such a magical opportunity for the children.
