Students at Cromwell Community College, part of the Active Learning Trust, have continued to perform at the highest levels in this year’s Post 16 exams.
Over one fifth of A level grades awarded were at A*-A grade and nearly 70 per cent of grades awarded were at A*-C grade. A number of subjects performed exceptionally well including psychology and the sciences. Vocational subjects continue to perform well, with the majority of students achieving the top grades of Distinction and Distinction*.
Jane Horn, Executive Principal, said: “We continue to grow at Post 16 with year-on-year improvements and more students achieving the grades they need to move on to higher education. Over one third of University places secured are at Russell Group institutions, reflecting the high calibre of students here at Cromwell. Congratulations to them for their hard work and I know they will go on to greater success.
“I am very grateful for the continued support of parents and the hard work of teachers who provide the students with constant support to achieve their successes.”
Mrs Heather Paul, Head of Sixth Form, said: “These have been an amazing group of students who have been incredibly diligent over the past two years. They have been supported by a talented A Level teaching team who continue to stretch and motivate the students. Cromwell Sixth Form continues to go from strength to strength and demonstrates how successful individual students can be.”

Students at both Cromwell Community College and The Neale-Wade Academy can be proud of their achievements, which will ensure that they are able to move, should they wish, onto further study or apprenticeships with great confidence. There were many outstanding individual performances, in particular: Rhian Young with 3 A*s will be going to Cambridge University to read medicine. Natalie Quinn with A*,A,A will be studying English at Bristol University and Teri Parsonage achieved A,A,A which will allow her to study Veterinary Medicine at Nottingham University. Isobel Morrish with A*,A*, C will be going to study Psychology at Anglia Ruskin University. Courtney Tyers A*,A,B has secured a place to read Midwifery at Keele University. Megan Roberts and Hannah Sears both with A,B,B will be going to study Biomedical sciences and Politics respectively.
