The Trust has today received confirmation of the school’s funding agreement from Secretary of State for Education, Justine Greening.

Earith executive headteacher, Sian Pritchard, also oversees Kingsfield Primary in Chatteris, meaning a strong working relationship with the Trust is already in place.  Earith is a small school, consisting of three classes, and joins the Trust as an Ofsted-rated ‘Good’ school.

Chief Executive of the Active Learning Trust, Gary Peile, said: “I am delighted that the Secretary of State has approved Earith Primary School joining our Trust from January 2018.

“Our schools and the wider Trust team look forward to working with staff and parents and carers at the school in meeting the aspirations of the young people of Earith. The new management model we are able to offer, with Mrs Sian Pritchard working as executive headteacher working across our schools in Cambridgeshire, offer lots of exciting opportunities for the school in the coming year.”

Writing in her letter confirming that the funding agreement for the school is in place, Secretary of State for Education Justine Greening said: “Earith Primary School will now have the opportunity to benefit from the freedoms and flexibilities of academy status, to share best practice and work with others to bring about sustained improvements to all schools in the area.”
