Sean Harford tweets commends students following visit

On Tuesday 28th June, Chantry Academy, Ipswich, welcomed the National Director for OFSTED Sean Harford.

The visit came about through the Director’s wish to see first-hand the impact of the Academy on its pupils and staff.

Principal Craig D’Cunha is a member of the Future Leaders Trust, a network of exceptional school leaders who are committed to raising attainment across education in the UK. Mr Harford requested the visit through the network, to see for himself the exceptional progress the school had made under the current leadership team.

Following the visit Mr Harford tweeted, ‘Many thanks for a great afternoon Craig. Special thanks to your wonderful pupils.’

Mr D’Cunha said: "Chantry Academy has made rapid sustained progress and I am proud that our students appreciate the changes and had the opportunity to demonstrate this to Sean.”

CEO of the Active Learning Trust, Gary Peile added: “I am delighted Sean was able to visit Chantry Academy and see the excellent work of staff and pupils. We are proud to have Chantry as a member of our family of schools and look forward to welcoming Sean to other Trust schools in the future.”
