Highfield School in Ely is to become part of the Active Learning Trust (ALT) empire.
The school, which is based in Downham Road and caters for children with additional needs, will be joining the trust in September – and will be called Highfield Ely.
ALT currently operates 14 schools across East Anglia, five of which are in Cambridgeshire, including the Isle of Ely Primary School.
It is also going to be running the two new schools being built in Littleport.
